A walk across a floating boat bridge on the Buriganga river in Dhaka. Water hyacinth has hampered the movement of boats on the river so boats are tied together to form a temporary bridge.

Kans Grass (Saccharum spontaneum), also known as “Kaash” in bengali (Bangla), blooms during autumn exclusively in South Asia, especially Bangladesh and India. Blossom of Kaash is the signature of autumn in Bangladesh. You don’t need to guess the calendar month, just look around. If you find these fluffy, dreamy flowers in full blossom, you can be assured that autumn is here.
